I was reading the above referenced article and could not believe it. All over the globe, scientist are splicing together human genes with animal genes. This raises a very serious question. At what point does an animal gain human rights?

If you speak to an animal rights activist, animals already have rights, humans simply violate them. What happens when animals receive human genes? At what point does an animal become more human than not? Where do humans decide to draw the morale line in the sand? The Chinese government has already injected human brain stem cells into goat fetuses. This is a situation that is rapidly going out of control.

Much of this is being done to create new advances in medicine, but what about the creation of new diseases? The bird flu, the pig flu, these are both common animal diseases that have found a way to cross over and effect humans. What happens when scientist start creating animals human hybrids? Could diseases find an easier time jumping species? Could we be looking at a new pandemic every year? Is this already occurring?

I don't know but I am willing to bet the scientist don't either.

further sources, i know this is just very unbelievable...
