Here Comes Skyrim: TES 5

It has been 5 years since Bethesda has updated their hit gaming world, The Elder Scrolls but in just 2 days (11/11/11) we will finally be able to get a copy of the newest edition to the Elder Scrolls lineup Skyrim. To say I am excited about this particular release would be an understatement. I am actually freaking out with anticipation. I have the game pre-ordered from Amazon (incidentally, they are giving a special $10 off your next order with them when you preorder Skyrim) it is scheduled for release date delivery and although I have literally been anticipating this game for over 3 years now, these last 3 days are among the hardest. Yes, waiting sucks huh?

All is well though, come Friday I will once again in the land of Tamriel, kicking ass and taking names. Though 5 editions of TES now exist, I have only played the last 3 incarnations, in order Morrowind, Oblivion and soon, Skyrim. If you are unfamiliar with the series, TES puts you in a wide open world of medieval fantasy. As a RPG maker, Bethesda is the best at creating realistic, immersive worlds in which one can literally loose themselves for days upon weeks upon months upon years. Seriously, The last release of TES, Oblivion I am still playing to this day, having already completed the main quest my character forges ahead still gaining levels, skills and new side quests.

It has been stated that Skyrim will be much the same way with over 15 miles of explorable terrain and dynamic quest that are created at random by the games AI you could literally play the game for the rest of your life and continue to find new challenges for you character. This is rather exciting and as far as bang for you buck goes, quite an accomplishment in value added. Throw in the promised downloadable future content and you truly have a game of games.

I have decided to dedicate a part of this blog to my adventures in Skyrim and will be posting future updates and experiences under the tag of the same; Skyrim. Well that is if I can force myself to turn off the PS3 long enough to write anything at all :)
